WEG TRANSFORMERS – EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE
WEG Transformers USA in Washington specializes in the manufacturing, assembly, supervision, and commissioning services of Power and Distribution Transformers. In the past year, WEG has needed training at all levels of its workforce, with employees requiring welding certifications, Microsoft Excel expertise, and leadership skills, to name a few.
WEG was able to receive this training through its partnership with East Central College (ECC) with funding from Missouri One Start. This partnership helped facilitate customized training for the company’s employees. A total of 45 employees have received training this past year, and all attending employees have finished with a passing grade.
“Our partnership with Missouri One Start and East Central has been so beneficial to our employees,” said Lacey Oswald, director of human resources at WEG. “For instance, welders at WEG need specific advanced certifications to work on our transformers. Thanks to the customized training they receive, they come out knowing what we need them to know.”
