Training Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary

Seeking a dedicated and experienced training leader who will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of all training programs at our beef harvest facility in Warren City, Missouri.  The training leader will be responsible for developing training materials, conducting hands-on training sessions, assessing training needs, and continuously improving training processes to enhance the skills and capabilities of our employees.

 

Training Program Management

  • Collaborate with Safety, Quality, and HR leadership to keep new hire training content up to date.
  • Sustain the Extreme Ownership by coaching and reinforcing the Laws of Combat and other desired behaviors.
  • Champion the Management Trainee and Supervisor Development Programs by partnering with the learning and development team and supporting the participants.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) and point of contact for any Alchemy training.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to implement training and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, modules, and resources.

Training Delivery

  • Oversee all training efforts, including new hires, cross-training, and leadership.
  • Observe and provide feedback to trainers, both positive and constructive.
  • Ensure training is an engaging and hands-on experience that uses in-person, technology, and on-the-job components.
  • Conduct training when a trainer is not available.

Training Evaluation and Improvement

  • Ensure that knowledge checks are completed and passed. When not completed, arranges retesting.
  • Evaluate the training programs by collecting feedback from new hires after 30 days of training.  Using the feedback to make positive.
  • Review data to identify knowledge & skill gaps.
  • Create skill assessments to ensure new hires have the skills as well as the knowledge.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset with the team and the site, ensuring the training is the most effective it can be.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Validate that all training activities align with industry regulations, company policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and current training records, showing employee progress and certifications.
  • Ensure training programs meet and exceed compliance standards.

Team Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, and QA.  Identify training needs and efficiently resolve the issues.
  • Partner with plant leadership in all departments to monitor and evaluate the quality of training programs.

Harvest Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

Oversee the harvest floor and all aspects of production from set up to yields, quality, employee safety, food safety, volume, costs, claims, turnover, absenteeism, and training of supervisors. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance, and staffing. 

As our Harvest Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for providing leadership and ensure execution of departmental business plans in the Harvest area.  Interface routinely with peers.  Reports to Director of Operations - Harvest.
  • Oversee production operations (Leads and hourly production employees) to provide for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules, priorities, operation sequence, and processing specifications. 
  • Be responsible for crewing, scheduling, work quality, productivity, and employee training in assigned areas. 
  • Be responsible for safety and housekeeping and for proper operation of equipment. 
  • Accountable for ensuring that all health and safety policies and regulations are enforced, by reporting policy infractions to HR and being involved with taking appropriate disciplinary actions. Perform accident investigations. 
  • Participate in plant management and operational meetings and conduct line meetings.
  • Update, maintain, and implement documents, records, or product specifications. 
  • Conduct employment actions in accordance with EEO/AA guidelines (hire, selection, promotion, demotion, transfer, termination, etc.). 
  • Evaluate department work performance and take corrective action. Take disciplinary or termination action in accordance with company standard practices and procedures. 
  • Coordinate material flow through various stages of assigned departments and with other departments. 
  • Suggest and/or develop improved processes and production methods. 
  • Perform SQF checks for all areas to assure all assignments are being completed; constantly monitor all departments for cleanliness and ensure that product contamination is kept to a minimum. 
  • Verify labor hours (Kronos) to ensure all department crewing and payroll report accuracy.   
  • Use Kronos reporting information to establish crewing shortages in departments. 
  • Run report(s) and complete/distribute Supervisors reports. 
  • Promote and drive succession development with areas of responsibility.

Community Liaison

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Community Liaison role will focus on supporting the integration of new hires into our workforce and the local community. Acting as a community developer, the candidate will identify and address the needs and concerns of residents regarding newcomers, facilitating their effective adjustment to the area. Additionally, the candidate will manage collaborative efforts between the city staff, elected officials, service providers, faith groups, business partners, landlords, and other community stakeholders to address matters related to the new AFG plant, including AFG events for community partners. This includes representing AHP during public and community meetings and addressing questions, concerns, and issues from residents, employees, and prospective employees.

Recruiting Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

The Recruiting Manager will be responsible for full cycle recruiting for the facility.  This role will work closely with operational management to develop and implement short and long-term strategies to ensure the organization has the workforce needed to successfully execute work both today and in the future. If you are an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about recruiting, can work independently, and provide excellent customer service with a successful recruiting track record, let’s talk!

  • Develop recruiting strategies and lead the recruiting team.
  • Actively lead and support all activities in the recruitment life cycle to include pro-actively sourcing candidates, screening, selecting, interviewing, offer management, administering pre-employment screening, onboarding, and hiring consistently per hiring policies and in accordance with affirmative action/EEO. 
  • Working closely with operations management, develop and implement AFG’s approach to recruiting; ensure recruiting needs are understood and effectively addressed.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience - have a Human Resources mindset focusing on the delivery of a first-class candidate experience from initial contact to onboarding and through new hire orientation. 
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system (iCIMS) to maintain all job postings (internal and external) and candidate/applicant data for the entire recruitment, selection, and hire process.  
  • Conduct post offer processes and coordinate housing or lodging as needed.
  • Actively support AFG’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Serve as company advocate; research, contact, and build rapport with agencies (community services, colleges, high schools, employment agencies, recruiters, etc.) to identify new talent, provide company information, opportunities, and benefits; make presentations and maintain rapport.
  • Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Attend and coordinate job fairs (onsite and off-site) to attract talent.
  • Attract candidates with social media other methods (job service, newspaper, online, radio, billboards, local publications, colleges, high schools, etc.).
  • Maintain recruiting reports (production staffing, interview, rehires, etc.). 
  • Continually seek innovative ways to attract new talent and build a pipeline of future talent.
  • Promote and drive succession development with areas of responsibility.
