The Field Technician position will operate independently from CTI’s main office, traveling to customers’ locations for start-up, calibration, light installation, and/or repair a variety of gas detection systems. The Field Technician will also be responsible for training plant personnel on how to use the gas detection systems as well as write reports for PSM documentation. A typical work week may include three weeknights in a hotel, with the remainder of the week working at home, if needed.

Must be 21 years of age. Must have personal vehicle, reliable for travel. Mileage paid. Will use personal vehicle for work related travel. Must be able to fly and rent a car within the continental US.
Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Essential Responsibilities
- Calibrate, trouble shoot and repair, gas detection systems and sensors.
- Translate system operation scope and user functions of gas detection systems and sensors to plant personnel.
- Write reports for safety documentation to meet OSHA standards.
- Contact manufacturers and/or distributors of equipment to effectively and properly maintain/calibrate leak detection equipment and associated components.
- Determine best long-term method for repair. Translate solutions using CTI products when possible.
Requirements
- Associates degree in electronics or 2 years industrial controls experience, preferred.
- Understand electronic circuit and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Familiar with PLCs, relay logic, and industrial control systems.
- Familiar with soldering and circuit assembly tasks.
- Experience using a DMM as well as trouble shooting 120VAC and 24VDC circuits to include wiring, relay logic and PLC functions.
- Ability to exercise component and personal safety to maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical components.
- Strong understanding of AC and DC circuitry. Strong understanding of relay integration methods and functionality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in industrial environments.
- Ability to problem solve/gather information needed to complete jobs.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Acrobat PDF.
This position is labor-intensive and regularly requires the ability to climb a ladder while carrying 40-50lbs of tools. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Wage range ($50,000-$100,000/year)
