Status: Full Time

• DT Engineering is a full-service engineering, manufacturing and system integrator providing automation technologies and systems, tooling, fixtures, dies, and logistics, for its global customer base.
• The Designer examines the quotation, estimate of hours and materials, purchase orders, sketches, standards, and specifications to interpret the design requirements for the customer and creates a workable tool/die design.
• Using Solidworks software, creates a tool/die design along with plan views, cross sections, details, and bill of material to satisfy customer requirements.
• Follows the project in the build stage and advises the Leader as questions/problems arise.
• Concepts all types of tools/dies, checks other designs, updates previous designs, and authors engineering changes as requested by the Estimator or customer.
• Confers with the customer, engineering staff, and project leaders during the project’s progress and recommends design modifications to malfunctions.
• Travels to customer location to evaluate manufacturing processes, assist in installation, or design auxiliary items on site. 10% travel

Qualifications:

• Ten years of design/toolmaker experience in tool and die.
• Good working knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and drafting principles.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles of tool design.
• Prior experience or training in 3D CAD is helpful.
