Position: Maintenance Helper
Status: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Works under direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager or applicable supervisor in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards
  • Assists with new industrial installations an industrial maintenance repairs.
  • Work is performed based on verbal/ written work orders which may include guidelines and drawing, and tasks do not typically require exercising independent judgment Tasks
  • Functions as a helper to pipefitters, ironworkers, painters, insulators and maintenance mechanics on new installations and repairs of existing systems
  • Applies company maintenance material standards and creates material lists/quantities as needed for specific projects
  • Break duct work down on packaging lines
  • Assist Maintenance Mechanic in routine tasks
  • Assist and complete work orders
  • Assist on PMs as directed
  • Ability to rebuild pumps, will train
  • Performs required tasks safely and on-time
  • Transports/organizes various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure availability of materials to efficiently execute work • Responds to urgent situations to resolve immediate safety concerns
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations Specifications
  • H.S. diploma or GED
  • Training/experience in industrial setting preferred

Knowledge of:

  1. Arithmetic and Geometry (Basic levels)
  2. Industrial safety, health and environmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures (Basic level)

Skill in:

  1. Organization of tools and materials
  2. Use of standard tools and equipment of the insulating trade o Functioning independently and within a team environment
  3. Understanding drawings, instructions and service manuals

Ability to:

  • Work in extreme cold and hot (120F) industrial environments
  • Work from oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams in English
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and drive fork truck in safe and efficient manner
  • Work safely from ladders and scaffolds
  • Follow established company policies and procedures
  • Operate and maintain wide variety of maintenance tools and equipment
  • Exhibit manual dexterity, perceptual speed and extent flexibility
  • Adapt/respond to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs
  • Pass pre-employment physical with drug screen and physical capabilities test
