Status: Full Time

The Training and Development Leader (TDL) is responsible for facilitating manufacturing development activities in manufacturing facilities. An effective Training and Development Leader (TDL) will leverage an understanding of adult learning theory, their process management experience, obtaining, delivering, and executing curricula. They will play a vital role supporting Ford Motor Company’s vision of providing world class learning and development activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll do…

Training Management: 

  • Implement and manage the Ford Motor Company Manufacturing Training System, using standardized processes and tools
  • Conduct training needs analysis at individual, department, and plant levels
  • Develop and implement appropriate annual training plans
  • Monitor completion of training to plan
  • Manage and/or develop education and training budgets
  • Obtain funding to support training plans
  • Manage training records to ensure effective tracking and compliance
  • Plan and implement orientation for new hires and transfers
  • Identify individual training needs
  • Coordinate orientation schedule
  • Schedule instructors, presenters and training rooms
  • Schedule all training in most efficient way to maintain production schedules
  • Monitor certification of internal and external trainers and coaches for continuous improvement
  • Evaluate impact/effectiveness of training (data collection, analysis, and reporting)
  • Manage the training tracking system, as required
  • Provide standardized reports as required
  • Lead and facilitate plant training-related committees, e.g., Training Steering Committee, Technical Skills Committee, Training Vertical Teams

 

QUALIFICATIONS

You’ll have… 

  • Bachelors degree in Human Performance Technology or related field
  • Demonstrated ability in:
    • technical and professional knowledge of Human Performance Technology
    • building effective working relationships
    • planning and organizing work for self and others

  • Leader or managerial experience
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in working with a union

    • Stress tolerance:  Maintain stable performance under pressure or competing priorities
    • Effective work habits:  Work well individually and as part of a diverse team
  • Office skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with exceptional Excel skills
