POET Bioprocessing Success Story

POET EMPLOYEES RECEIVE UPSKILLING & TRAINING

POET Bioprocessing in Macon has been in business for 25 years, with customers including Tyson Poultry Inc., ConAgra Frozen Foods, Pepsi Americas, and more. Several of the company’s team members have been employed since the facility’s start-up, and many of them are now reaching retirement age. As a result, POET decided to upskill its team members, investing in their retention and promotion.

POET partnered with State Tech to cover a large majority of its upskilling requirements while receiving funding through Missouri One Start’s Customized Training program. In the past fiscal year, 139 employees received training in areas such as safety, process documentation, leadership, communication, and maintenance.

“We have been a part of the MOS Customized Training Program for many years, and we appreciate the benefits it has provided for us,” says Heather Baker, Administrative Coordinator at POET.

“At POET, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we’re excited to be able to promote team members. With their current knowledge and additional training, they become an incredibly valuable resource to the team.”
